Dr. Lary Evans
Lary Evans spent 28 plus years in the computer industry. He retired in 2000 from the position of VP and Gen. Mgr. at Dell Computer where he was head of Engineering and Product Marketing for the Dell Server Group. In three years, the Server revenue increased from $100Million to greater than $1Billion. Prior to Dell, Evans had executive positions at Sequent Computer Systems, Culler Scientific, Xerox, Digital Equipment and Data General. Currently, Evans is a board member of rateGenius, Inc. and is Chairman of the Board for Optimal Electronics, a s/w company serving electronic manufacturing. Dr. Evans has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
Tejas Vakil
President and CEO
Tejas is a 35-year veteran of the technology industry. He has held executive positions at Dell, Bertelsmann (arvato), Compaq, and Tandem Computer. He was CEO of Transpond Global Solutions, an RFID company that he founded. He has also held executive positions at four other technology startups. Tejas has an MS in Computer Science (Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago), an MBA (University of Iowa), and a BS in Chemical Engineering (University of Madras, India).
David Baizer
David Baizer is the President of Baizer Interest, Inc., a 20-year-old company specializing in commercial real estate ownership, development, management and investment; and private equity investment in a series of small companies in which he has held multiple board and advisory positions. Before that he worked in computer technology for McDonnell Douglas (aerospace), Alvey (material handling) and Data Research (library automation). David holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
Rex Bohls
Rex Bohls is an Austin real estate developer and investor. He has been instrumental in the development of residential subdivisions in and around the Austin and San Antonio metroplexes for the last 30+ years. In the last few years much of his focus has been buying and selling recreational ranches in the Texas hill country. He serves on the board of several local companies, in which he has ownership, and continually looks for investments in local entities. Rex is a native Austinite, earned his B.B.A. in accounting from Texas Tech University and upon graduation in 1978, joined Peat, Marwick, Mitchell (n.k.a. KPMG).
Chris Brown
Chris is the co-founder of rateGenius, Inc., a multi-state, web-based loan brokerage company specializing in automotive refinance and rateGenius Insurance Agency (insurance brokerage operation). Under his direction, rateGenius has become a leader in the auto refinance industry. Prior to rateGenius, Chris had over 20 years of experience in general and sales management roles with auto dealerships. He was also VP of Operations and General Manager of Southern Union Econofuels.
Rick Salwen
Rick Salwen is the retired former Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Dell Computer Corporation. He joined Dell and founded the Dell legal department in 1989, when it was a company with $250 million in annual revenues, and retired in 2000, when Dell had reached $30 billion – revenue growth of approximately twelve thousand percent in twelve years!
Prior to joining Dell, Rick was General Counsel and Partner at the Perot Group in Dallas, and before that was Associate General Counsel at Electronic Data Systems Corp. Rick earned his B.A. and Law degrees at the University of Washington in Seattle.
