Chris Brown
President and CEO
Chris Brown has more than 30 years experience in all facets of the automobile industry. In 1999 he co-founded RateGenius, Inc., a multi-state, web-based loan company that specializes in automotive refinance and includes an insurance agency and several call centers.
Under his direction RateGenius has become a leader in the auto refinance industry, having processed more than 850,000 loan applications and booking more than $1.9 Billion in consumer loans. Chris is also the CEO of FinanceGenius, a loan origination system created especially for credit unions and community banks.
Prior to starting RateGenius, Chris spent more than 20 years in general and sales management positions at auto dealerships. He also served as vice president of operations and general manager of Southern Union Econofuels, responsible for 27 natural gas refueling stations and two national gas vehicle technology centers (NGVTC). Under Chris’ leadership these NGVTC centers became the first Ford Motor Company Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) in the country.
Brian Jones
Vice President of Operations
Brian joined FinanceGenius’ parent company, RateGenius in 2005, and is responsible for overseeing the operations of its auto refinance, insurance, and software companies.
Brian graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1999 and started his career as a marketing manager of an online company. Under his direction the company tripled in size in two years. Brian later moved into the software industry with a position at Computer Associates. At age 24 Brian became the youngest member in the history of the Central Texas Better Business Bureau’s Board of Directors.
Eric Clark
Director of IT & Technology
Eric joined the company in 2011, and is the newest member to our team. He is responsible for the technical creation and implementation of Internet-based applications and systems, including architecture, design, coding, testing, security, and mobile devices.
In his previous role as Director of Technology at EVN Solutions, Inc., Eric led the development of a sophisticated, XML-based system for a large-scale printing company, and served as the primary developer of EVN’s Drupal Connector to the MarkLogic Server. In addition, Eric’s technology experience includes the following positions – Vice President, Information Technology and Proof-of-Concept Development for LibreDigital, Inc, Senior Director of Information Technology and Systems for MODEL N, Inc., as well as the Director of Information Technology and Systems for Computer Associates.
Eric has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Southern Illinois University and was a US Navy SEAL.
Stephen Norman
Project & Implementation Manager
Stephen assists FinanceGenius platform clients throughout the system set-up process. He ensures quality control and testing of each system installation for all lending clients. Once systems are launched, he is responsible for system support as well as customer service. Stephen joined the RateGenius team in 2007 in customer service, and was a manager in that department before being promoted to FinanceGenius in February 2011.
Prior to RateGenius, Stephen was an office administrator for a custom home remodeling firm in Napels, Florida. He has also co-owned a real estate brokerage firm. Stephen studied at both Baylor University and The University of Texas at Austin.
Julie Shinn
Director of Business Development
Julie manages marketing programs for both RateGenius and FinanceGenius. She joined the company in 2006, and is responsible for maintaining lending relationships and business development partnerships. In addition, Julie oversees all direct mail campaigns and assists in Internet marketing projects.
In 1997, Julie graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Public Relations. Her career started as a marketing coordinator for a Texas-based law firm. She moved into the Internet industry taking a position with OnRamp Access in 2006. As the Web Development Manager, Julie was in charge of project management for all website development, overseeing the web team, and marketing and sales of all web development projects.
